Happy Holidays Everyone

Wow! Another busy term and we made it to the end!

This term we have...

• Learnt about changes in the kitchen and had fun making and baking many different foods using heat and cooling methods.
• Had fun learning Maori, Dance and Drama, Computer skills, and developing our Fine Motor Skills.
• Developed our skills with Small Balls and Big Balls, had fun playing Co-Operative Games and danced our way through Jump Jam.
• Continued to improve our Reading and Writing and develop our counting skills with our Math work.
• Continued to develop our work habits and make good friends.
• Had House Days and Mufti Bake Sale days.
• Had lots of laughs and fun while learning in room 10.

Now its time for a well earned rest.

The Kandiman

Recently, Steven the Kandiman came to school to show us how to make lollipops.

First we had to wash our hands.

These are the ingredients to make lollipops.

Steven boiled sugar, glucose and a little water until it was 104 C hot. 

Steven talked about the flavours and colours that we could add to our lollipops.

Steven added the raspberry flavour.

Then he poured the mixture on to his special tray.

The mixture is very hot.

Next, Steven added some colour.  He added green and red.

The mixture is still very hot.

Steven mixed the lollipop mixture carefully.

To make the pink, he pulled the mixture over a hook.

Then, he added the red and green mixture.

Steven has twisted the three colours together and pulled them into a long shape.  Then, he cuts them.

 Steven shows us how to make the lollipop shape.



 Now it's our turn to make one...

this is the best part!

With the left over mixture, Steven cut it up for us to try. 

Yum!

Special Terrific Person and Values Person Term 2 Week 8

Congratulations and well done to AO for being our Special Terrific Person this week. 

He has been trying very hard with his Jolly Phonics.

Great job BL for being our Values Person this week by showing Honesty through his actions and hard work.

Congratulations and well done to KS, AR and JS for winning sports balls in the chocolate draw.
