Farewell YR

Farewell Y, take care and all the BEST!

Sadly, on Wednesday, we farewelled another Super Star.  YR is returning to China.  During her time her in room 10, she has learnt many things.  Good luck Y, don't forget us!

Last Friday we sadly said good bye to Miss Pillay who has left Botany Downs to teach in Rarotonga.

Miss Pillay looked after us on Tuesday mornings while Ms Lala was at Kapahaka.

We had a lot of fun with you Miss Pillay.

Take care and all the best in Rarotonga.

Botany Downs Primary Walking School Bus

Here at Botany Downs primary we have started the Walking School Bus. 

Congratulations to KB, SW, and LS for walking to school and being part of the Walking School Bus.  What a great way to keep fit, make new friends and have fun along the way, all before school even starts!

Making Jelly.

Today we made jelly

We put the crystals in a bowl.  This is the solid. 

 Then we added hot water.  This is the liquid.

We saw the steam from the hot water.  This is the gas.

The jelly crystals dissolved. 

  Then we mixed it and put the jelly in the fridge.

Now we are waiting for the jelly to set and become a solid again!

Welcome back to Term 2. 

This term we are continuing with our learning and trying to be the best learners.
Our inquiry topic is Kitchen Chemistry.  We will be looking at how food changes when it is mixed, heated or cooled.
We will also be getting better at our reading, writing, counting and adding.
