On Thursday, we went down to the Native Garden and looked around. This is the area behind room's 17, 18, and 20 and has recently been cleaned up for us to use.
We can sit on the grass amongst the native trees and listen to the birds. We saw and heard a tui!
Ms Lala read a story called 'Edward the Emu' by Sheena Knowles. This is about an emu who wants to be someone else until he realises being himself is the best he can be.
After this we went back to our class and talked about how we can be the best learners.
Ms Lala said this year we are going on a mission to be the best learners. We had to think about what would make us the best learners.
Check out our back wall next time you are around.
We all came up with an idea of how to be Best Learners. Some of us needed help. On our Solo Inquiry Learning model most of us are at the Unistructural Stage - where we have one idea, while a few of us are at the Prestructural Stage - where we need help with our thinking.
Throughout the year we are aiming to be at the Relational Stage and the Extended Abstract Stage where we have several ideas and can explain them and form an opinion.
